Steve and Sophia of WRCR’s morning program receive
Beloved Community Award

Suffern, NY—On April 2nd, Steve Possell and Sophia Salis of WRCR AM 1300’s “Steve and Sophia Morning Show” were honored for their service to the community, during the Martin Luther King Multi-Purpose Center’s Annual Benefit Dinner. The benefit was held in the Empire Ballroom of the Holiday Inn in Suffern. In addition to celebrating its forty-first year as a staple of the Spring Valley community, the Martin Luther King Multi-Purpose Center is recognizing people and organizations that “make Rockland County a great place to live, to build, to educate and to work.”

The award seeks to celebrate community members’ commitment to building the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “Beloved Community;” a community that grows by the mutual caring and respect of its members.

For the past four years, “The Steve and Sophia Morning Show” on AM 1300 WRCR Radio Rockland has endeavored to provide the Rockland County community with an open forum for discussion of a variety of social and political issues. The program brings to the forefront elected officials, community leaders and local residents that are trying to positively contribute to the overall quality of life in Rockland County.

Readers of The Journal News have voted and WRCR AM1300 was chosen READERS CHOICE for local area radio in Rockland County. And, by the people who matter most - its residents!

Said the Journal News (And, we're quoting here):
"... a strong commitment to the community and mix of programming have combined to distinguish "Radio Rockland". Sure, you can hear dozens of metro-area stations when in Rockland, but when Rockland News is needed this is the place to turn ..."
